Product Details

Attracting the attention of both judges and audience at the Chelsea Flower Show in England, the award-winning Anemone Wild Swan bears lovely, pure white flowers with lavender blue on the backs of the outer petals. As a result, you are treated morning and evening to nodding, half-closed bicolor blossoms. Selected from seedlings with a few different parents of early- and late-blooming varieties, Wild Swan offers a long season of bloom. 'Macane001' PP 23,132

It's hard to orchestrate a proper beginning or finish to the growing season without including Anemones in your plan. Blooms are either pink or white, with a bright ring of golden stamens in the center, and both single and semi-double varieties are available. The foliage is generally a deep green that is pleasing to look at all summer and rarely bothered by pests or disease. Anemones thrive in full sun or partial shade (required in the South and the warmer areas of Zones 9 and 10 in the West) and deep, rich, moist soil. Once established (which may take a year or two), they will fill in any available space, though these plants are far too charming to be called invasive.

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

We guarantee to ship plants that are in prime condition for growing. If your order is damaged or fails to meet your expectations, we will cheerfully replace or refund it. Please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-503-9624 or email us at [email protected]. Please include your order number or customer number when contacting us.

I really loved this flower and and have some tulips that are similar colors. However, this year it failed to return - a little green and then disappeared. Sad.

Love These

Mine are really thriving in a partial sun location. I'm going to buy more. It's hard to find a deer resistant, partial-shade plant with beautiful flowers. I also enjoy that they bloom all summer.

Beautiful but won't last

These are my favorite anemone and they bloom longer than most. The problem is, each of the 3 times I've planted these, they've turned brown, dried up, and died by late July. This year, it happened again; one died a few weeks ago, and the other is almost gone. And those I planted last year didn't return this year, so they hadn't gone dormant. They are a definite 5 in beauty but a 1 in hardiness, especially since my other anemone varieties are going strong.

I am sorry to learn you have not had success growing this plant and those received in 2018 failed to survive the winter. I will be contacting you via email Rosie because I need more information regarding
their care in order to best advise you.

pretty foliage, scant blooms

Anemone Wild Swan seems to do better in part shade. It also likes a lot of water. Very nice foliage that stays perfect all season. Flowers are gorgeous--when they arrive. It is not a heavy bloomer. My 5 plants would tend to have only one at a time putting up a couple of blooms. Never were the plants totally bedecked in flowers. But they sent up a flower here, another flower there from time to time all season. Hoping it will prove more floriferous in its 2nd year next summer.

Calm beauty

I planted this last fall and was concerned my chosen spot was too shady, but this anemone has sent up those beautiful blooms since June! I want it to spread but haven't seen signs of that- yet! Beautiful white with lavender petals underneath!
