Ranunculus

Whether you choose rich deep hues or vibrant sunny ones, pastel tones or splashy bicolor, Persian Buttercups (Ranunculus asiaticus) will add a sophisticated touch to your early- to mid-spring gardens and bouquets. Blossoms with exquisite tissue paper-like petals arranged in dense concentric layers resemble romantic old roses. We grow these plants in our greenhouses from corms, so they’re ready to be planted when temperatures rise above freezing. Ranunculus will bloom for 4-6 weeks as long as weather remains cool and moisture steady. We treat them like annuals, discarding them when they go dormant in hot weather. Ranunculus are excellent cut flowers, standing on strong stems and lasting for 10-14 days. Deadheading or cutting for bouquets encourages the formation of more flowers.
