We thought a new Narcissus composition was in order, so we put together a quartet of Double Daffodils in melodious shades of apricot, cream, and gold, sharpened with white and touches of flaming red. Of particular note are their vibrant centers. Our collection contains 12 bulbs each of the following varieties, labeled. 48 bulbs total. All are midseason to late bloomers.
- 'Delnashaugh', creamy apricot with a deeper apricot center
- 'Acropolis', white with orange-red petals in the center
- 'Tahiti', sulphur yellow flecked with orange
- 'Sir Winston Churchill', creamy white with a saffron-yellow center
Daffodils are easy to grow and largely immune to voles and deer. Give these bulbs well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade. Once bloom is complete, there is no need to remove spent blossoms, but do allow the leaves to remain in place until they yellow (6–8 weeks). This ensures the following year's display.
