Shipping
How and
When We Deliver
Spring: We ship our bulbs and plants
at the right time for planting in your area,
with orders dispatched on a first-come,
first-served basis by climate
zone. All hard goods are shipped with your plants or bulbs, unless you request
otherwise.
We begin shipping the most
cold-tolerant, dormant perennials and bulb, including Lilies in
early March to Zones 7-9, with Zone 5 commencing
in early April; less
cold-tolerant annuals, perennials and bulbs start
shipping in April, in the latter
part of the month to Zones 5 and 6. The season
ends in mid-June: temperatures determine the precise
date.
We begin shipping Tuberous
Begonias and Dahlias in March to all zones, because
these plants perform best if started early
indoors.
Other shipping
times: Citrus plants begin shipping
in mid-March, beginning with the warmest parts
of the country. Scented Geraniums and Tomato and Pepper
plants begin shipping
in mid-April. Daffodils (The Works) are
shipped in the fall. Please also note that Gift Plants ship at varying times which are
listed on our web site for each item.
Fall: We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for fall
planting in your area, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by
climate zone. All hard goods are shipped with your order, unless you request otherwise.
Lilies for fall shipping only, are shipped beginning in late September and October depending on the
variety. Tree Peonies, for fall shipping only, begin shipping in mid to late October.
South African Amaryllis start shipping in early October; Paperwhites in late
September; Dutch Amaryllis in mid November. We prepare Lily-of-the-Valley for forcing, so
delivery begins in mid December, when the pips are ready to produce flowers for you.
The size of the plants we ship has been selected to
reduce the shock
of transplanting. For some, this means a large,
bareroot crown. Others
cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if
grown in containers. We ship
these plants in 3in pots, except as noted. We
must point out that many
perennials will not bloom the first year after
planting, but will the
following year, amply rewarding your patience.
We ship bulbs as dormant,
bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or
moss. Shrubs, vines,
and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot
or potgrown. The size of
the pot is noted in the individual
descriptions. (Back to top.)
Postal and Package Delivery Addresses
Our
shipments may travel via
UPS, which requires a street address for
delivery, OR by Priority
US Mail, so please provide both street
and postal addresses, if
applicable. Large or heavy items are generally
shipped via UPS. We ask
that, when possible, you please provide an
address where there is a daytime
recipient available. Please contact us with 2
weeks notice, if you'll be away at expected time of
delivery.
We cannot be responsible for delivery problems
due to incorrect addresses.
Please check that you have typed in the correct
address and ZIP code.

When To
Order
We are pleased to accept orders until the last
realistic planting date
in your area. For northern gardeners in spring,
this generally means early
June, weather permitting. We encourage gardeners
in the South to order
early so we can deliver while nights are still
cool. In the fall, weather
permitting, we ship bulbs to Northern gardeners
until early November;
to warmer zones, through November. We cannot
deliver any orders to
Alaska or Hawaii, and we cannot ship any orders outside the U.S.
or to an APO/FPO address. Toward the end of the
season, it is always best to phone in or e-mail your
order. (Back to top.)
Our shipments may travel via UPS, which
requires a street
address for delivery, OR by Priority US
Mail, so please provide
both addresses, if applicable. Large or heavy
items are generally shipped
via UPS. We ask that, when possible, you please
provide an address where
there is a daytime recipient available.
In the rare case when severe weather prevents
timely delivery of tender
plants intended as gifts, we will send an
announcement of your gift. We
cannot be responsible for delivery problems due
to incorrect addresses.
Additional charges apply for Express and
Priority Shipping. Product details
note any items that require additional lead-time
or that can only be shipped
Standard (ground delivery). (Back

Prices
Prices are set seasonally by variety, and quantity
discounts apply only to multiple
purchases of a single item number. Please also be
aware that due to increasing energy costs, prices and delivery charges are
subject to change.
Please note: The cost of fuel continues to affect everyone, and we were disappointed to learn of another increase in shipping costs after our spring catalogue printed. Shipping Venders have raised their rates again (unfortunately, this can happen on a monthly basis), and we cannot continue to absorb the amount. We have revised our Packing and Delivery Charges for Spring 2008 to include a $2.50 fuel surcharge.
If, by the time your order ships, a downward adjustment to the fuel surcharge is made, we will credit your White Flower Farm account with an appropriate amount. Thanks for your understanding.

Sales Tax
Sales tax is charged on orders delivered to
Connecticut. According to state
regulations, the tax is calculated on products and on
packing and delivery charges. (Back to top.)
Payment
To reserve from a finite and perishable inventory,
we must request payment upon receipt of orders.
We accept Visa, Master Card, American
Express, and Discover cards. On orders to Connecticut
only, delivery charges
must be added before sales tax is applied, as required
by state law.

Shipping Restrictions
We cannot deliver to Alaska,
Hawaii, APO/FPO addresses, or
to any addresses outside the U.S. (Back to top.)
Agricultural
Regulations
Agricultural regulations restrict the shipment of
certain plants. When (No AL,

plants cannot be shipped
to the states indicated. We cannot ship plants or
bulbs outside the continental
U.S. (Back to top.)
About Our Hardiness
Zones
To account for the differences between the climates of
the Southeast and West,
we have split the "warm" end of our hardiness ratings.
For example, Zones
4-7S/9W; as always, the first number indicates
cold hardiness. The numbers
on the right side of the dash indicate the limits of a
plant's range in the
Southeast (S) and West (W). (Back to
