Developed at Rutgers University in 1968, this once-popular "Jersey type" Tomato disappeared as commercial growers favored fruits with longer shelf life and tough skins that could withstand shipping all over the country. Gardeners had the good sense to keep asking for this reliable hybrid and in 2008, Rutgers brought it back. The New York Times described 'Ramapo' as "the Cadillac of the famed tasty, zesty Jersey tomato". We're glad to offer this medium-size, globe-shaped, red Tomato, not only for its traditional flavor but also for its resistance to Verticillium Wilt and Fusarium Wilt (Race 1), a bonus for growers of all kinds. Indeterminate. Ripens about 69-80 days from transplant.
Our stocky seedlings are grown and shipped in 3in pots that are a full 4in deep, so the plants you receive have strong, well-developed root systems. For more information on growing and care, click Growing Guide.
