HOW PLANTS ARE SHIPPED

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

WHEN WE SHIP

We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

OUR GUARANTEE

We guarantee to ship plants that are in prime condition for growing. If your order is damaged or fails to meet your expectations, we will cheerfully replace or refund it. Please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-503-9624 or email us at [email protected]. Please include your order number or customer number when contacting us.

Disappointing

A viewer from KY

I love Lantana. I plant it every year. I bought these b/c they have a color combination I like, difficult to find locally. They simply refuse to grow and bloom. They looked fine on arrival. Planted right away. But they haven't grown at all - and the baby blooms are still in their infancy. One has turned brown and died. The other two look about like they did the day they arrived, tho a little more tired and shriveled looking. I can not imagine what is wrong, but naturally this is a disappointment.

Mrs.

A viewer from Sapulpa, OK

I bought the citrus lantana last summer, planted it in my flower bed, and it bloomed like crazy until late October. Then, surprisingly, this year in early May, here it came! Now, in early July, it is about 2 feet tall and blooming beautifully. Considered it an annual but apparently it likes Oklahoma heat. Will definitely buy more of these.

Best plant Iv found.

A viewer from Lancaster S.C.

I started with one plant, now I cant have enough of this lovely plant. It is so forgiving of the South's humidity and summer droughts and neglect from me during the heat. I have trouble finding new plants, as they are fast becoming everyone's favorite.

Beautiful and long lasting

Liz from Concord, MA

Used this lantana at the edge of a border, where it performed beautifully. Will always want some in my garden.

Growing Lantana

Latin Name Pronunciation: lan-tan'-ah

This tropical genus has the agreeable habit of blooming abundantly and constantly day in, day out all summer long. Lantana plants thrive on neglect and like dry heat, making them ideal selections for pots, planters, and hanging baskets. In Zones where winter temperatures drop below freezing, Lantanas should be treated as single-season annuals.

Planting: Space plants about 12 to 18 inches apart to give them room to spread. If you’re planting in a container, ensure the container has adequate drainage holes.

Light: Full sun for at least six to eight hours per day is essential for the best flowering.

Watering: Water regularly after planting to establish roots. Once established, it is quite drought-tolerant.

Fertilizer: Fertilize in the spring to support vigorous growth and abundant flowering.

Soil: Easily grown in average, dry, well-drained soil. Will tolerate wide range of soil.

Pests/Diseases: Generally pest and disease-free.

Maintenance:  Regular pruning maintains the desired shape and size, and encourages denser growth and more flowers. Deadheading, or removing spent blooms, can also promote further blooming throughout the season.
