It is often said that good things come in threes. This trio of adorable pink Kalanchoes, presented in stylish, dotted white cachepots, is the epitome of sweetness and cheer. Gift Mom, a sister or daughter, or any loved one with this little collection of plants bearing bright pink, miniature Rose-shaped blossoms encircled by glossy green, succulent foliage. Decorate place settings at the dining table with single pots for guests to take home after the meal. Together or individually, these pops of pink are sure to brighten someone’s day. Trio includes three Pink Kalanchoe plants and 3 white dotted cachepots, approximately 3¾" wide x 3" tall.

The genus Kalanchoe includes over 150 species native to Africa and parts of the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. They comprise perennials, biennials, and rarely annuals that are either non-woody (herbaceous) plants or partially woody subshrubs. Kalanchoes, like other members of the Stonecrop family, have fleshy, succulent leaves. Their small, four-lobed, tubular or bell-shaped flowers are borne in terminal clusters above the foliage. In temperate climates such as ours, Kalanchoes are grown primarily indoors, where they make top-notch, famously low-maintenance houseplants. Since all parts of the plant are toxic, Kalanchoes should be located beyond the reach of children and household pets.

The species with which Americans are most familiar is Kalanchoe blossfeldiana. Native to Madagascar, this tropical perennial was discovered in the 1930s and received the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit. The species and its cultivated varieties have beautifully glossy, dark green leaves that are oval-shaped with scalloped edges, and their clusters of dainty flowers may be colored red, pink, orange, yellow, or white. These fantastic, easy-to-grow houseplants can be encouraged to rebloom year after year.

WEATHER PERMITTING - Working with Mother Nature

In our business, we work closely with Mother Nature. In the colder months when we stipulate that an item is shipped “weather permitting”, that means temperatures outside our shipping facility in northwestern Connecticut and along the shipping route must be warm enough for tender plants to survive in unheated delivery trucks. Our practice of waiting for windows of milder weather may result in the occasional delay, but our customers tend to appreciate the care we take to make certain their plants arrive in the very best possible condition. Questions? Don’t hesitate to call our customer service staff at 1-800-411-6159.

HOW PLANTS ARE SHIPPED

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

WHEN WE SHIP

We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

OUR GUARANTEE

We guarantee to ship plants that are in prime condition for growing. If your order is damaged or fails to meet your expectations, we will cheerfully replace or refund it. Please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-503-9624 or email us at [email protected]. Please include your order number or customer number when contacting us.

Latin Name Pronunciation: kal-en-koe'-ee

Kalanchoes are easy to grow indoors in temperatures of 55°F or above, with bright indirect light. From April to September, water when the top 1 inch of the potting mix is dry to the touch and fertilize monthly with a water-soluble fertilizer (20-20-20) mixed at 1/2 the recommended strength. The shorter days and longer nights of fall stimulate plants to produce flowers. Plants require less water in winter, when they are not actively growing.
