Deer won't bother with this garden, but you'll love its long season of flowers and varied foliage forms and colors: from May through September, the plants in our Deer-Resistant Garden for Sun provide a spectrum of harmonious blooms in shades of blue, rose, yellow, and white, offset by the greens, burgundy, and silvers of foliage. The tawny spikes of Feather Reed Grass (Calamagrostis 'Karl Foerster,' 5–6′ tall) carry the show through fall and into winter.

We'll deliver the garden at the right time for planting in your hardiness zone. Garden measures approx. 5′ by 20′ and includes 31 plants, with quantities of each shown in parentheses below.

Shipping
Every state has agricultural regulations that restrict the shipment of certain plants. We're sorry, but we cannot ship this item to the following states: Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington.

HOW PLANTS ARE SHIPPED

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

WHEN WE SHIP

We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

OUR GUARANTEE

We guarantee to ship plants that are in prime condition for growing. If your order is damaged or fails to meet your expectations, we will cheerfully replace or refund it. wonderful!

Honeybee from Glenside, PA

Was a bit dissapointed when my order arrived as the plants were rather small; however, I planted immediately and I couldn't be happier! The plants have grown very quickly and have given us beautiful blooms this whole first summer. The deer have left everything alone, unfortunately, rabbit resistant this garden is not! The monarda shipped bareroot and never showed up after planting, but true to their word, WFF refunded me the cost of those plants. Beautiful garden! Cant wait to see how it performs next season.

Beautiful, but not deer resistant

Susie Q from Washington DC

Used the plant selection to create street garden and to fill in backyard butterfly garden. Provided the perfect welcome to our home. Butterflies and humans loved the additions. Several neighbors were inspired to create similar sunny gardens. However, we live near a large park and the deer selectively, and repeatedly, ate the phox and echinacea to the ground. In this area at least, phlox and echinacea are highly effective deer 'attractors' -- absolutely NOT deer resistant. If you live in a neighborhood frequented by deer, it is essential to keep current with deer repellent spray. I replaced the eaten flowers, kept up with the spraying, and the gardens were beautiful all summer. Also, I added amsonia and yarrow -- for larger spaces, they are great additions.

Thanks for this collection

Ann from Maryland

The wigelia will be too big for me to order the collection, but I really appreciate this list. The Russian Sage I do have is the talk of our deer infested neighborhood, creating a cool-colored cloud for hot summer. It's not just deer resistant; it's deer repelling!

Stunning success

Cecile from New Providence, NJ

I planted 2 deer-resistant pre-planned gardens last sprin between my front door and driveway. It was breathe taking, non-stop blooms with low maintenance!!! Our deer traffic is so heavy many neighbors have given up on flowers.

I sprayed the new plants with anti-deer products a few times until they were established. Once I stopped, deer tasted the Echinacea and phlox once and didn't trouble it again.

Before planting I roto-tilled, enriched with compost & manure, put down newspaper and then mulch. I also put in drip irrigation on a timer and dead-headed very occasionally

Our house is on a hill and I built up 2 large dirt mounds (one for each pre-planned garden) between a new walkway and the house so the garden is very visible from the street, enhancing the garden's drama. Because of the steepness of the mounds I'll move a few plants around this year. The bee balm and amsonia fell down the slope. This year I'll get a large grow-through for each bee balm and I'll move the amsonia to a flatter location. All plants thrived.
