Product Details

Next to our office, we have planted a small garden that reaches its peak in early June and provides a serene and pleasing presence. It contains the blue Campanula persicifolia 'Telham Beauty' and its white sibling C. p. 'Grandiflora Alba' plus the pale yellow Perennial Foxglove, Digitalis grandiflora. The colors are simple and lovely. You'll need about 7sq ft of good soil in full sun or light shade. For larger spaces, simply order multiple borders. No plan is required, since it's impossible to combine these plants in a way that isn't attractive. (Not included is Allium moly, the yellow-flowered Ornamental Onion shown in the foreground.) Our Simple Border for Sun or Shade includes one of each, three plants total. Exclusive.

HOW PLANTS ARE SHIPPED

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

WHEN WE SHIP

We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

OUR GUARANTEE

We guarantee to ship plants that are in prime condition for growing. If your order is damaged or fails to meet your expectations, we will cheerfully replace or refund it. Please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-503-9624 or email us at [email protected]. Please include your order number or customer number when contacting us.

First blooming season success

TomatoQueen from northern Virginia, usa

I purchased 1 set of the three last year and got them in the ground just in time for the foxglove to send up one stem. The bloom lasted through the heat, and the campanula survived chewing by creatures unknown also (spray pepper wax put a stop to that, great stuff). This year, my area (northern Virginia) has experienced bizarre spring weather, including a long heat wave in which all the flowering trees bloomed a month early, and the campanulas sent up lots of well-budded stems. Then the cool weather returned, and everything paused while the azaleas came out and normal service resumed. The campanulas could not resist, however, and as the azalea faded, the purple and white came out. What handsome elegant blossoms on sturdy upright stems. I've staked them out of caution. Meanwhile, the one foxglove has doubled in mass and sent up a baby, and last night there were tons of big buds. So by the weekend, there should be something resembling the picture.
