Product Details
White Flower Farm is proud to introduce Celosia spicata ‘Koda’s Charm,’ a standout addition to sunny borders, cutting gardens, and bouquets that derives from a staff member’s seed source following five years of selective breeding. The vivid magenta plumes can reach up to 8” long, and they are held on sturdy stems that grow up to 4’ tall in the garden. Our colleague named this plant after her beloved dog, Koda, who was always trustworthy and full of personality. Plant this tough, low-maintenance highlight in groups and let the richly colored plumes sway in the breeze. Cut stems for bouquets, and pair them with Dahlias and other late-season stars.
This genus is made up of easy-to-grow, sun-loving annuals and perennials. Celosias have an upright growing habit and produce long-lasting blooms that make excellent cut flowers. They add texture and bright color to container gardens and beds, and are especially effective planted in groups. Celosia has been named The National Garden Bureau’s Annual of the Year for 2023.

HOW PLANTS ARE SHIPPED
The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.
WHEN WE SHIP
We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

Beautiful celosia
A viewer from Indianapolis, IN
The plants were both the same height but the plumes of Koda’s charm were significantly larger and more colorful. I’ll stay with Koda’s Charm.

Grow Celosia in full sun in moist, well-drained soil. Plants are heat tolerant, but require consistent watering to produce blooms throughout the summer and into fall.
